Starting at archery ranges is crucial since practicing those shots improves your handling way faster than just hunting. When drawing the bow, focus on where your hand meets the grip, that's your real aiming point since there's no crosshair to help you. The game wants you to learn actual bow mechanics so make sure you're pulling all the way back until the fletching vanishes, that's when you know you're at full power.
Distance shots need some finesse, you'll want to aim higher based on range and watch your elevation angles especially from high ground. Something interesting about the stamina system is it affects your aim pretty heavily, so get a feel for timing your releases before the shake sets in. Definitely grab better equipment when you can since basic bows really limit your effective range, the Cuman bow or Yew longbow are solid upgrades once you can afford them.
The Eagle Eye perk is a game-changer for combat archery, letting you slow time just enough to line up those crucial shots. Head over to Chumps on the River competitions when you're ready to test your skills, it's actually great practice and you'll earn some Groschen while you're at it. Just remember the game simulates real archery pretty closely so don't expect to be Robin Hood right away, your accuracy improves naturally as you practice more."
