nobrainer that mace axe swords are indeed historically accurate but was wondering if its the same case for other unique items (does anybody have answers to this or could point out to real life references?)

The weapons and armor setup is pretty fascinating in this one since they really went all out with the historical stuff while keeping it fun to play. You've got your classic medieval arsenal with swords axes and maces but what's really interesting, is how they've added crossbows and early guns which pack a serious punch but aren't always reliable just like the real ones back then.
The way armor works is actually pretty clever with all these different layers you can mix and match. Start with some padded clothing, add chainmail if you want and top it off with plate armor and fancy decorated surcoats. It's not just for show either since each type of armor has its strengths like chainmail being great against slashing but not so hot against blunt weapons, while plate armor gives amazing protection but yeah you'll definitely feel the weight when you're trying to move around.
Here's something cool to keep in mind - the historians actually helped design all this stuff using real medieval artifacts as reference and they even did 3D scans to get everything just right. Sure they had to simplify some things like repair systems to keep it from getting tedious, but overall the combat feels authentic while still being really engaging especially when you're figuring out which armor combo works best for different situations
A thrilling story-driven action RPG, with a rich open world, set in 15th century Medieval Europe. Experience the ultimate medieval adventure - through the eyes of young Henry - as you embark on a journey of epic proportions.
