The effective range is super important here - a crucifix only stops hunts within 3 meters of its position, except for banshees which get a 5-meter radius. If the ghost decides to start hunting from outside that zone, even slightly, the crucifix won't do anything. You'll want to position them extremely carefully, accounting for the actual spawn points rather than just tossing them in the middle of the room.

Watch the ghost's movement patterns carefully since they tend to roam between specific spots. A common mistake is placing crucifixes in the "ghost room" when the entity's actually wandering the halls or camping in adjacent areas. Really important to note that tier 1 crucifixes only work once, while tier 2 and 3 give you two chances before breaking. Timing is crucial here, since they only prevent hunt initiations and won't do anything once a hunt's already started.

For larger spaces, you'll need multiple crucifixes with overlapping coverage to properly lockdown the area. Maybe interesting: tier 3 crucifixes can actually stop cursed hunts if they haven't been used yet, while lower tiers can't affect those at all. Just remember banshees always need that full 5-meter coverage regardless of crucifix tier, so plan accordingly when dealing with them.
