For hunts, there's a distinct warning sound followed by the front door locking, and you'll get a brief grace period where the ghost is invisible. All electronics will malfunction when hunting starts, and when visible the ghost will constantly flicker. Good to know that during a cursed hunt the grace period drops to just 1 second, so be extra careful with those possessed items.
