The thaye is super interesting since it starts off really aggressive but gets weaker over time. Your first dead giveaway will be its hunt speed around 2.75 m/s and how it starts hunting at really high sanity, like 75%. Getting a ouija board early is actually super helpful, since you can ask "how old are you?" and track the age going up which confirms you've got one.

The ghost room is where most of the action happens, and you'll want at least two people hanging around to speed up the aging process. It usually takes about 5 or 6 interactions before it's fully weakened, and you'll notice the hunt threshold dropping way down to 15% sanity. Makes things way safer for finishing up objectives later on.

For evidence, you're looking for ghost orbs, d.O.T.S, and ghost writing, but the real tell is watching its behavior change. The activity monitor is pretty helpful too - early on you'll see huge spikes but they calm down quite a bit as it ages. Motion sensors are pretty good to set up, and bringing candles isn't a bad idea since you'll be camping the ghost room quite a bit.

Just remember that when it's young, it's one of the most dangerous types you can run into, but give it enough time and attention, and it becomes pretty manageable. The speed difference is super noticeable during hunts, dropping down to about 1 m/s when it's fully aged, which makes escaping way easier.
