so i know this is a mix of visual mechanic + that nasty weather warning that drains my life supports system but does it have anything to do with the reaction i just mentioned

You know what's interesting about those fancy bz reactions with all their swirling patterns and color changes - they actually have nothing to do with acid rain at all! I've seen a lot of players wondering about this, especially on those hazardous acid planets, but its really two completely different things. The acid rain you're dealing with is more like what we get in real life, where certain gases mix with water in the atmosphere and make it all acidic. Pretty straightforward stuff actually
those bz reactions are super cool to watch in a lab with their wild patterns, but when you're out exploring and get caught in that nasty acid rain, its just regular old atmospheric chemistry at work. The rain forms pretty much the same way it does back on earth, where pollutants and water vapor get together and make things pretty uncomfortable for anyone caught in it
one thing i've noticed while playing is that the acid rain hazard is more about creating a challenging environment than trying to be scientifically accurate. Sure, the game takes inspiration from real chemistry, but you won't see any of those mesmerizing bz patterns in the rain clouds. Just keep your hazard protection charged, and you'll be fine out there!
Tip: if you're really into the chemistry side of things, there are some great videos online showing actual bz reactions in action - totally different from acid rain but still super fascinating to watch!
