The key idea is focusing on defensive layouts when building in pvp realms since raiders will definitely try breaking in sooner or later. For the best protection, set up multiple gate points around your base, this spreads out attackers and stops them from focusing one spot. Make sure to build small retreat areas inside where you can duck away to heal up, and keep enough open space for your servants to actually fight back when needed. A solid trick is placing teleporters in key spots so you can zip around quickly during raids.

For peaceful servers though it's all about making things efficient and pretty looking. A good basement setup is roughly 9 by 7 tiles which gives plenty of room for all your crafting stuff. Start with your stairs first, then build out your rooms around that core. The central areas in farbane woods are perfect for your first castle since resources are everywhere nearby.

When picking your spot think about what matters most - if you're doing pve focus on having materials close by and enough space to build something nice looking. For pvp though you really need somewhere defensible first, then worry about resources after. Those yellow and purple zones in the middle of the map are actually great for both styles since they give you good access to everything while still being pretty secure. Just remember you can always build more castles later on as you push into dunley farmlands and beyond, so don't stress too much about getting everything perfect right away.
