i always use standard farm layout - anyone used other types?

Starting with the standard layout youll find the most reliable setup with that massive 3427 tile area perfect for maximizing crop profits, and its definitely the go-to for serious farming. When you first get into things, the forest farm brings some interesting mechanics with those daily respawning hardwood stumps which is crucial timing for tool upgrades especially early game. The riverland setup needs specific positioning near those island connections to maximize fishing spots, and youll want to time your casts when the bubbles appear for optimal catches (and dont sleep on crab pots either!)
The hill-top farm requires precise resource management since that quarry area spawns nodes at 5am daily, while the wilderness layout brings monster spawns starting exactly at 7pm until 6am which is perfect for combat practice especially if you position yourself near building structures. For multiplayer sessions the four corners layout provides optimal spacing with each quadrant having distinct features that trigger at different times - the mini quarry portion specifically refreshes alongside the main mountain quarry
Beach farm gets those supply crates washing up after any rain event but watch out because sprinklers wont function on most of the sand tiles, so timing your watering becomes crucial. The new meadowlands starts you with immediate animal gameplay mechanics since those chickens need feeding at 6am daily, and that special blue grass provides a 1.25x happiness multiplier for livestock which triggers every morning
Looking at efficiency the standard or four corners layouts provide the most consistent results for new players while veterans might appreciate the specific timing requirements of beach or wilderness farms for more technical challenges
