Your standing with the merchants, mercenaries and explorers determines what missions and rewards you can access, building up naturally as you complete tasks for them. Better standing means better stuff like those salvaged frigate modules and storage augmentations, while dropping missions can knock your rep down a bit. Interesting thing to note, when people see "quantum" mentioned in expeditions, that's just cool sci-fi naming rather than actual security stuff.

The whole system basically checks your progress and standing, keeps track of what you've earned through regular database tracking, no special encryption needed. Just keep an eye on those standing levels and you'll see better rewards unlock as you go along.
