i mainly use mouse and keyboard gameplay so a question for console guys and girls here is this reaction mechanic also automatically triggered or nah? how does it work vs keyboard and mouse?

The core principle behind input methods really comes down to some key differences that might affect how you play. If you're using mouse and keyboard, you've got this nice hotbar setup that shows all your reaction abilities right there, which makes it super quick to manage stuff during combat. Plus clicking through menus is just naturally faster when you need to adjust settings or check different options.
Controller setup is pretty interesting too though, and it's got its own advantages. That active search feature is actually really neat since it highlights stuff you can interact with nearby, and some players find the movement feels more natural especially for those opportunity attacks. The radial menus take a bit more getting used to but they work pretty well once you're familiar with them.
Here's what's good to know - both setups let you customize reactions exactly the same way. You can set them to automatic, make them ask you first, or turn them off completely. The main difference is really just how you get to those settings. With mouse and keyboard you're clicking directly where you want to go, while controller users are working through those radial wheels which takes a few extra button presses. It's totally playable either way, but yeah mouse and keyboard definitely feels snappier for menu stuff while controller gives you that nice active search feature and smooth movement control.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power.

for example i want wyll to be able to use magic that gale uses despite him being a warlock - so basically the difference would probably lie on their cantrips and spells??? kind of confused need help
