Alright so romancing the emperor is actually pretty straightforward once you know what youre looking for. Its all about building trust in the early game, being supportive during those dream guardian chats and using your illithid powers when they come up - those little moments really add up. Things get more intense in the second act where youll need to have their back during that big astral plane fight, which honestly makes sense if youre trying to win them over.

The real interesting stuff happens in act 3 though. Youll want to check out their hideout - its either tucked away in the lower city sewers or, if youre having trouble finding it, theres actually another spot in the elfsong taverns kitchen. Just be ready for some githyanki and rats when you get there, nothing too rough but worth being prepared for.

After youve done all that and learned about their past, take a long rest and youll get your shot at romance. They actually give you two choices which is pretty cool - you can either go with their mind flayer form if thats your thing, or they can take on that custom look you made at the start. Just keep in mind youll need to be on their side about the whole orpheus situation, but dont worry too much about your other romance options, this is more of a one-time thing that wont mess up other relationships even if your companions might get a bit judgey about it.
