if one goes either path (sharran vs selunite) will there be consequences or even secrets and easter eggs on later acts or interactions

Let me explain the fascinating path of shadowheart's inner conflict, because it really shapes everything about her character development. When you first meet her she's completely devoted to shar, which makes sense given her indoctrination, but there's this underlying tension that builds throughout the story.
The big turning point comes when you encounter the nightsong (who, interestingly enough, is actually selûne's daughter), and this is where things get really interesting. Your choices here ripple through the whole game because if shadowheart stays loyal to shar, she'll get these powerful dark abilities and special gear, but she becomes more emotionally distant (which might affect how you want to approach her romance path). On the flip side, choosing selûne's path opens up this whole redemption arc where she literally transforms, gaining different powers and a more hopeful outlook.
Something you might find useful to know is that her parents' storyline in act 3 ties everything together beautifully. They're being held in the house of grief, and how you handle their rescue really depends on which path you've chosen for shadowheart. The gauntlet of shar in the shadow-cursed lands is definitely worth exploring too, since it reveals more about her past and offers some pretty unique rewards.
The really clever thing about her character design is how her faith choice affects gameplay mechanics. Shar-aligned shadowheart excels at different combat strategies than her selûne-aligned version, giving you distinct tactical options (personally, i find the selûne healing powers incredibly useful in tough fights). Just remember that whichever path you choose affects not just shadowheart, but your relationships with other companions and even whole storylines in the shadow-cursed lands.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power.
