Let me explain how the monetization works here, because it's actually quite refreshing compared to most online games these days. The whole game is completely free to play (and i mean actually free, not free with a catch). What's interesting is how they've structured their optional purchases to be purely convenience or style-focused.
The main things you can buy are cosmetic items like fancy armor skins and cool spell effects (these typically range from $5 to $42, depending on how elaborate they are), and some really helpful storage options called stash tabs. Those tabs, by the way, go on sale pretty regularly for about $4-6 each - and you might want to grab a currency tab first since it makes organizing your materials so much smoother.
Something worth knowing about the supporter packs is that they're basically bundles of points plus exclusive cosmetics. You get about 10 points per dollar spent, which is nice because you can then use those points however you want (this flexibility really helps when planning purchases). The cool thing about this model is that all the actual gameplay stuff - every bit of content, every new expansion, all the power progression - stays completely free.
Here's an interesting bit: if you've already spent money on the first game, most of those purchases will carry over when you jump into the sequel (just keep in mind some older effects might need technical updates first). The whole system is built around the idea that paying should be optional and just for nice-to-have extras, not for keeping up with other players or accessing core content.
