For perfect dodges just press x right before getting hit and youll get those sweet invincibility frames, really makes a difference in tough fights. Pretty cool that dodging perfectly slows down time too letting you counter hard. The dauntless shield is your best friend here, perfect parries make it glow red and boost your damage but the timing is super tight just listen for that gong sound. Try practicing parries on basic draugr attacks first, and remember you can actually parry most projectiles even without the yellow warning ring which is neat.

Good to know you can cancel almost any attack animation with a dodge to keep the pressure up especially with the blades. The hind of deadly vitality amulet is fantastic for dodge builds, gives you health back on perfect timing. Red ring attacks cant be parried though so dont even try, just dodge those and youll save yourself some frustration. Interesting thing about the dauntless shield is you can chain perfect parries into hyperion grapple for some crazy stun damage once you get the timing down.
