So the way prophecies work in this one is pretty interesting - they're more like guidelines than actual rules you have to follow. From what i've seen playing through it, the norns actually explain this really well, saying its all about patterns in how people usually act rather than some set-in-stone destiny stuff.
I noticed this especially during that intense scene with thor, where kratos basically rewrites his own story by choosing mercy instead of just destroying everything like the prophecies suggested. Pretty cool how making different choices actually changes those shrine predictions we see throughout the game.
The thing that really stuck with me is how some big events still happen but in completely different ways than predicted. Like, take surtr for example - that whole situation plays out through teamwork instead of some dramatic sacrifice, and when asgard falls its actually because of Odins stubbornness rather than just because destiny said so. Its really about making your own choices and dealing with the consequences, not just following some preset path. Honestly makes the whole story feel more meaningful when you realize youre not just going through the motions of some prophecy.
Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.
