Starting with the halberd is your best bet for range combat, super effective with those wide sweeping attacks and crazy reach. Twin pikes are really solid too, great for keeping groups of enemies at bay while staying mobile but watch the timing on those combo finishers.

Lance gives you nice defensive options with that counter mechanic, might be interesting to practice the timing since it helps against officers. Crescent blade feels amazing with those spinning heavies but youll need patience, those slow windups can leave you open if you're not careful. Maybe skip the regular spear unless you're really into that safer playstyle, decent reach but the narrow attacks make crowd control pretty rough.

Stick to weapons with horizontal swings for the best results, vertical attacks just don't give you the same battlefield control. Good to know the gauntlets and wheels have some ranged tricks but they're not really worth it when you could be using the better options.
