For the best distraction setup make sure to watch enemy patrol patterns for about 30 seconds before engaging, they'll show you their exact routes and timing windows. The residue bolts are incredibly precise with a 1. 2 second activation delay, so aim slightly ahead of moving targets and remember the crosshair goes red when you're in effective range. Most marauders take exactly 3. 5 seconds to investigate noise distractions, giving you that window to either reposition or strike.
When you spot the heavily armored enemies, especially flamethrower operators, time your distractions carefully since they move 40% slower than regular enemies but have a much wider detection cone. A good approach is setting up environmental traps near resource crates, as enemies will naturally path through these spots during their investigation phase.
For the crafty sub-challenge focus on chain reactions - throw a distraction to group enemies together, then use residue bolts to trigger chaos since affected enemies will attack their allies for exactly 15 seconds. The quick and painful timer starts immediately when you're detected so plan your first strike carefully positioning yourself near the camps main entrance where you'll typically find 3-4 enemies clustered together perfect for an opening move. Keeping track of your throwable inventory is crucial since crafting takes 2. 3 seconds and you'll want at least 2 residue bolts and 3 regular distractions for optimal clear times
