Alright, first get ready to build a triangle foundation since this is where the real magic happens with airlocks. The outer door placement is absolutely crucial putting it on the left means it'll block the inner doorway when open which gives you that split second advantage if someone's camping outside. Watch the timing when you place the doors though, the frames need to align perfectly or the blocking won't work right and you'll leave gaps.
For the automated setup, you'll want to position your hbhf sensor exactly 2 tiles up from the foundation, connected to both doors with electrical branches set to 2 power each. The sensor detects player presence within a 5 tile radius so position matters especially when dealing with door campers or groups trying to breach.
When it comes to trap setups, timing and spacing is everything. Place your bait room exactly 3 foundations away from your core with shotgun traps angled at 37 degrees this catches raiders in a crossfire right as they breach the first door. False floors need precise timing on the trigger mechanism, usually 0.5 seconds after pressure plate activation to catch people mid sprint.
Good to know connecting your hbhf to a smart switch lets you toggle the automation instantly if you spot counter raiders setting up. Always build your test setup first in a quiet area, because one misplaced sensor or wrong door timing can turn your defense against you when seconds matter.
The core thing to remember is the door swing mechanics dictate everything, from trap timing to escape routes. Keep your inner door closed while operating the outer one, and never break your own movement pattern or raiders will notice something's off about your base design.
The only aim in Rust is to survive. Everything wants you to die - the island’s wildlife, other inhabitants, the environment, and other survivors. Do whatever it takes to last another night.

farming locations are highly preferred like those safe quarries. i cant really buy or trade atm because i just started playing and still getting familiar with the game. i probably would enjoy exploring a little more instead of straight up buying
