How to prioritize crafting items inthose first 30 minutes are really crucial for setting yourself up - let me walk you through this because it makes a huge difference in how smoothly your survival journey goes.

Start by getting that building hammer crafted right away (this unlocks your ability to expand, which is essential for everything else). You'll want to add at least two squares in each direction, and here's why: it gives you better movement space and makes collecting floating materials much easier. Keep your important stuff toward the middle of your raft because, trust me, that shark loves nibbling on the edges.

Next up is your basic survival toolkit. Craft yourself a wooden spear and keep that plastic hook in good shape - you'll be using these constantly (fun fact: the shark actually follows a pretty predictable attack pattern once you get used to it). The research table should be your next big priority, since it opens up pretty much everything else you'll need to survive.

Getting your food and water situation sorted is absolutely critical, which is why you'll want to focus on the simple purifier and simple grill. Once those are set up, you can start thinking about collection nets - i usually aim for 4-6 of them because they're game-changers for passive resource gathering. Place them strategically around your raft's edges, but remember to protect them from our friendly neighborhood shark.

Something interesting about island visits - craft yourself a throwable anchor when you can, but make sure you've got the materials ready beforehand (2 planks 4 stones and 4 ropes). Islands are fantastic for getting those early-game resources you really need.

Oh, and here's something neat i discovered - if you place your crop plots under the research table, it actually serves two purposes: keeps those annoying seagulls away and lets the rain water your crops naturally. Pretty clever, right?

Keep repairing those raft sections whenever needed - the resources are actually quite plentiful in the beginning as long as you stay on top of collection. Before you know it, you'll have a proper floating base going! The first 30 minutes?
