The blunt weapon perks make them hit even harder, and your body stat helps unlock more options for crowd control.

Mantis blades take a different approach with quick slashing attacks and that signature leap ability that's great for closing gaps. While they don't hit as hard per strike, the faster attack speed and execution animations make them deadly especially against single targets. They work really well with blade perks and scale nicely with reflexes.

Interesting thing about picking between them, gorilla arms fit better with berserk builds where you want to tank damage and control the crowd, while mantis blades shine with sandevistan setups for that quick-strike assassin style. Both can carry you through the game but gorilla arms give you more utility options outside of combat, whereas mantis blades are pure combat focused. Maybe worth noting that if you're going for a pure damage build, gorilla arms actually hit harder per strike at 143 compared to mantis at 105, but those blade animations can make up for it with style points.
