do vehicles take damage from collisions?

so yeah thats the question as i came from gtaonline where apparently sometimes you get out of your car from the collision and sometimes not (gta 5 vs online) i was wondering if its the same for cyberpunk 2077

When your ride gets damaged, the easiest fix is walking about 50 meters away and calling it back using v on pc or the right d-pad for console players, and it'll show up good as new. If you're in a hurry fast traveling works just as well and your car will come back repaired. Sometimes with really banged up vehicles, you might need to wait a day or two in-game before summoning them back.

Interesting thing about some cars like the black caliburn, they can be a bit stubborn with repairs. If that happens driving it into deep water and letting it get destroyed usually does the trick then just call it again. For anyone who wants more control over repairs there's this handy mod that adds a repair hotkey it costs about 5% of the car's price in eddies but lets you fix things up instantly which is pretty convenient especially during long drives. Some players also use mods to turn off visual damage completely if they prefer keeping their rides pristine all the time.

Just keep in mind that regular scratches and dents fix themselves when you respawn the car but damaged lights might stick around until you do a proper repair using the distance method. Its not complicated once you get used to it and honestly most of the time just driving away and calling your car back is all you really need
