So the weapon system's actually pretty straightforward once you get used to it. Everything works on tiers now and i've found its way better than the old system where stuff would get outdated super fast. When you pick up a weapon, its locked to whatever tier it is - like a tier 3 gun will always be tier 3 with those exact same stats, no matter if youre level 10 or 50.

The good news is that better tiers start showing up naturally as you level up, and if you get your hands on an iconic weapon, you can actually bump it up to higher tiers through crafting which is pretty neat. I was really happy when they changed this in the 2.0 update, makes it way easier to know exactly what youre getting. The dlc stuff follows the same rules too, though they did add this crazy tier 5++ that you can only get past level 51. Just remember that weapons dont magically get stronger with you anymore, but honestly, its actually better this way since you know exactly what youre working with.
