am currently running on directx 11 for my pc im honestly planning to switch to 12 what are some things to keep in mind. do i usually replace some hardware parts?

Let me put it in context dx11 is actually running way better for most people unless youre rocking the latest hardware. I've been testing both and theres quite a difference in how smooth everything runs. The dx12 version is honestly a bit rough, dropping like 45% performance in busy areas like novigrad, and it gets even choppier if you turn on ray tracing.
The thing is, dx12 isn't all bad it lets you use some pretty cool features like dlss 3 frame generation, but you need one of those fancy rtx 40 series cards to take advantage of it. I've noticed the shader compilation stutters can be pretty annoying in dx12, especially when youre just panning the camera around.
For most of us running regular setups, dx11 is probably the way to go, since you get the same pretty graphics without all the performance headaches. The only real reason to switch to dx12 is if youre really keen on ray tracing or have that newer hardware to handle dlss 3 but honestly, the base game looks amazing either way.

quite worried because i heard how most optional quests and main quests are almost intertwined to each other! i remember rdr2 having the same plot and gameplay and tbh id rather not repeat the whole game
