theres this game i played before that is extremely similar to the last of us you can even say its a direct copy but its not really a direct copy dont get me wrong. so its a turn based combat and aliens were also involved and every time you upgrade something your enemies also upgrade and mind you there are humans as well! i miss that excitement of rage quitting and crafting the most detailed plan in a game lol. thinking of starting hard mode this evening and before i head out any last minute tips?

The crucial thing to grasp is that hard mode really changes how you need to think about survival. Everything becomes more strategic because resources are genuinely scarce (this actually makes the whole experience more immersive), and you'll need to get creative with what you find. Those wlf patrols are way more alert and aggressive, which means you can't just rush through areas anymore - they'll spot you much faster than you might expect.
What makes this particularly interesting is how it forces you to really master the environment and your tools. Placing traps near doorways isn't just helpful, it's often essential, and those bottles or bricks you find become absolutely precious for creating distractions (something that's easily overlooked on easier difficulties). You might want to save molotovs for those really tight situations, since crafting materials don't come by often.
The good news is you can always adjust the difficulty if things get too intense, but sticking with hard mode actually teaches you to be a better player. Every encounter becomes this tense puzzle where you're thinking three steps ahead, and when you finally overcome a challenging section, it feels absolutely earned. Just remember that stealth becomes your best friend especially in those grassy areas where enemies keep respawning (this mirrors how actual survivors would need to behave).
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure.

so if you guys have to restart the whole game what are tips that you would give to that new player? ill start. this ones not just applicable in tlou. but usually where theres the storyline points of no return and looting system. my advice is to never be stingy with using consumables and upgrades. ive seen people (me included) hoard stuff and never use it throughout their gameplay. like the game has ended we see the ending and they still have tons of consumables. like come on this aint path of exile

question about resource management. when do you usually guys use your stuff like i could stock a lot of medkits and barely use em. whats that fine line between using stuff and saving them for later vs. straight up hoarding?
