The Last of Us Part II

is crawling a useful stealth mechanic?

to be honest crawling slows me down but my opinion is that its really situational (as it should be) and really helpful for stealth especially against clickers. what do you guys think

So crawling is actually pretty useful for sneaking around but you gotta know when to use it. You press and hold circle to go prone and it works great for staying hidden, especially from those nasty clickers and shamblers since they cant hear you as well when youre down low. I've found its super helpful when moving through tall grass or squeezing under cars, and you can even craft stuff while staying hidden which is pretty neat.

One thing i learned the hard way though, is that youre gonna move pretty slow when crawling around, and sometimes you need to pop up real quick if things go south. What i usually do is combine it with listen mode (just hold r1) to check where everyone is, then plan my route from there. The grass is definitely your best friend here, and those shadowy spots can be lifesavers when youre trying to stay out of sight.

Something interesting i noticed is that while crawling works great for staying hidden, you cant really do much else while youre down there. Like if you need to take someone out quietly or defend yourself, youll need to get up first. Its all about picking the right moments really - sometimes its better to stay crouched instead just so you can move a bit faster or be ready to fight if you need to.

what are some tips for starting the last of us part ii for the first time?

so if you guys have to restart the whole game what are tips that you would give to that new player? ill start. this ones not just applicable in tlou. but usually where theres the storyline points of no return and looting system. my advice is to never be stingy with using consumables and upgrades. ive seen people (me included) hoard stuff and never use it throughout their gameplay. like the game has ended we see the ending and they still have tons of consumables. like come on this aint path of exile
