Let's break this down because it's actually quite interesting how the leveling system works. The enemies do get stronger as you level up, but the new system gives you more control over how you develop your character (this is a big improvement from the original). When you're climbing those levels, you'll get 12 virtue points to spread around, which means you can actually balance out any combat weaknesses even if you've been focusing on other skills.
Here's something that might be useful to understand: all your skills now contribute to leveling up, not just the major ones, so you won't get stuck in that old trap where non-combat skills could actually make you weaker. The spellsword path is pretty solid, by the way, since you can boost both magic and combat stats without compromising either (magic users might want to keep some points in endurance early on).
A neat thing to remember is that you can actually compensate for lower combat skills by smart attribute distribution, so you're never really boxed into a corner. The system's been reworked to be more forgiving that way (those virtue points are your safety net). Still, you might want to keep at least one combat skill in decent shape, just to have options when things get dicey.
Even if you do end up neglecting those fighting skills a bit, you can always adjust the difficulty slider until you get your attributes where you want them. The whole point of the remaster was to stop players from accidentally creating underpowered characters, so you've got plenty of room to experiment.

any tips on stacking resistance to physical and magic damage in oblivion remastered? i know its possible in the original game

so in the original oblivion there is this stacking weakness to magic which really buffs up your magic damage and ik this is one of the best strategies when dealing with bosses and tanky enemies. idk if it exists or not but i also heard one discord member yapping about how its broken but its boring at the same time (we both agree cuz i want to go melee mode)
