The core principle behind enchanting is maximizing your magic build's potential through specific timing and gear setups. You really want access to an altar before diving deep into enchantments and there's two main ways - complete those mages guild quests for university clearance, or grab frostcrag spire for instant access, though the university gives better options down the line. Watch your enchantment timing carefully since sigil stones become way more powerful at higher levels especially for that sweet spell absorption effect where you can stack four 15% pieces together
The real strategy kicks in with race-specific considerations - high elves get that massive +100 magicka bonus but you'll need to counter their 50% elemental weakness right away. Time your enchanting setup carefully during early progression focus on resistance gear first then build toward offensive enchants once you're better protected. The position you want to be in is stacking multiple effect types together - maybe adding some fortify magicka pieces while keeping those defensive enchants running
Here's something interesting about breaking the skill cap - enchanting lets you push way past 100 in your magic skills but you need to time the progression right. Start with basic enchants early game, then work toward specialized gear setups as you unlock better souls and sigil stones. Position yourself near quest-giving npcs in the arcane university since you'll be running back and forth testing different combinations until you find the perfect setup for your build pattern

any tips on stacking resistance to physical and magic damage in oblivion remastered? i know its possible in the original game

so in the original oblivion there is this stacking weakness to magic which really buffs up your magic damage and ik this is one of the best strategies when dealing with bosses and tanky enemies. idk if it exists or not but i also heard one discord member yapping about how its broken but its boring at the same time (we both agree cuz i want to go melee mode)
