The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
q&a

DAEDRA_DJINN357

are there combat playstyles that are worse or better than in other elder scrolls games?

looking for the best playstyle only tbh. one rumor i heard is that this magic-centered build is completely broken. while i mainly go melee kinda breaks my heart going ooga booga is being punished by the devs XD

For melee combat start by learning the new animations, your strikes create visible sparks and blood effects which actually help time your next moves. Magic got a serious upgrade making spells way more impactful than before, and definitely more viable than what you'd see in other versions. The over-shoulder view really helps track enemies during fights, much better than that old clunky camera system.

Combat flows pretty smooth once you get used to it, though archers might need time adjusting to the weightier bow mechanics. Something worth noting is that all fighting styles work pretty well here, whether you're swinging swords, slinging spells, or sticking to stealth archery. Magic users especially will notice spells pack more punch with enemies reacting properly when hit.

Tip: stealth mechanics work similar to what you might be used to, but the improved animations make sneaking feel more natural even if you cant dual-wield weapons. The combat overall feels more balanced now, so dont worry too much about picking the wrong build, just go with whatever style feels right.

q&a

is weakness stacking still in the game?

so in the original oblivion there is this stacking weakness to magic which really buffs up your magic damage and ik this is one of the best strategies when dealing with bosses and tanky enemies. idk if it exists or not but i also heard one discord member yapping about how its broken but its boring at the same time (we both agree cuz i want to go melee mode)
