If you're curious about some darker references hidden around the map, there's actually quite a bit to discover. Over in blaine county and sandy shores you'll find some seriously creepy stuff about merle abrahams, who's known as the infinite 8 killer. The whole thing is pretty disturbing, with cryptic messages scattered around that he left behind. This guy was obsessed with the number 8 and infinity symbols, and apparently killed eight victims in really ritualistic ways. Good to know: it's actually pretty similar to how the zodiac killer would leave all those weird messages, which makes you wonder if that was the inspiration.

The other really interesting spot is mount gordo, especially at night when things get extra spooky. There's this ghost that appears on the cliffs, and the story behind it is pretty dark. Supposedly it's the spirit of some poor woman whose husband jock pushed her off the cliff. He was trying to get into politics at the time, which makes it even more twisted. The whole setup feels like one of those real world cases where someone important maybe got away with murder, and now it's become this local legend that everyone whispers about. Pretty clever how they worked these real crime references into the game world if you think about it.
