There's something interesting about pushing stats past 20, but it's mostly about raw power rather than unlocking special content. When you're looking at ability scores that high, you'll notice mechanical advantages kick in - like getting those really sweet +5 or higher bonuses to your rolls. The timing really matters here since you'll want specific items to break through that 20 ceiling, things like the cloud giant strength elixir that can push you all the way to 27, or the greater health amulet locking constitution at 23.
Watch your positioning with these super-stats though, because while they make you incredibly strong in combat, most of the hidden dialogue stuff actually triggers at lower numbers, usually between 14 and 18. The real pattern here is that maxing stats lets you absolutely dominate specific scenarios - like pushing your AC so high you can solo bosses, or making certain skill checks literally impossible to fail.
Maybe interesting - if you're running a strength build, timing that cloud giant elixir right before big fights gives you those crazy enhanced shoves and jumps, while constitution builds should watch for that greater health amulet drop since it completely changes your survivability pattern. Just keep in mind that having a diverse party with different skills and backgrounds usually unlocks more hidden content than just chasing those ultra-high numbers.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power.

for example i want wyll to be able to use magic that gale uses despite him being a warlock - so basically the difference would probably lie on their cantrips and spells??? kind of confused need help
