Rock Band 2
Cheat mode:
Select the "Extras" option at the main menu. Select "Modify Game" option then enter one of the following
codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. Note: Enabling a code will prevent the game from
being saved. Additionally, you cannot use the solo buttons on the neck of the Stratocaster to enable the
codes.
Unlock All Songs:
Press Red, Yellow, Blue, Red(2), Blue(2), Red, Yellow, Blue. If using a standard controller, press
Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle(2), Square(2), Circle, Triangle, Square. This code disables the earning
of trophies, saving the game, and online features.
Select Venue Screen:
Press Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue, Yellow. If using a standard controller,
press Square, L1(2), Square, Triangle, Square, L1(2), Square, Triangle. This code unlocks all venues and
disables online features.
New Venues:
Press Red(4), Yellow(4). If using a standard controller, press Circle(4), Triangle(4). This code unlocks
only the venues introduced with Rock Band 2.
Awesome Detection:
Press Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange. If using a standard controller,
press Triangle, Square, L1, Triangle, Square, L1, Triangle, Square, L1.
Stage Mode:
Press Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Red. If using a standard controller, press
Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle, Square, Triangle, Circle. This code tweaks the game
for live, public performances. It disables pausing the game, failing songs, unlocking trophies, saving
the game, and online features.
Performance Mode:
Press Blue(2), Red(2), Yellow(2), Blue(2). If using a standard controller, press Square(2), Circle(2),
Triangle(2), Square(2). This code removes the track display.
Breakneck Speed:
Press Orange, Yellow, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Orange(2), Blue. If using a standard controller, press L1,
Triangle, L1, Triangle, Square, L1(2), Square. This code increases the scroll speed of the instrument
tracks.
Instruments:
Complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding instrument in the "My Closet" menu in the Rock
Shop.
Bomb bass: Complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
Bone microphone: Complete the Impossible Marathon 2 Challenge.
Clear bass: Complete the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list on Bass.
Clear Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Join the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list.
Clear microphone: Complete the Rock Immortal Setlist in World Tour mode on the microphone.
Glowing drum set: Join the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list.
Goat head guitar: Complete the Impossible Marathon 2 challenge on the guitar.
Gold bass: Complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
Gold drum set: Complete the Impossible Drum Challenge.
Gold Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Complete the Impossible Guitar Challenge.
Gold microphone: Complete the Impossible Vocal Challenge.
Silver bass: Complete the Final Band Challenge on the bass.
Silver drum set: Complete the Final Band Challenge on the drums.
Silver Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS: Complete the Final Band Challenge on the guitar.
Silver microphone: Complete the Final Band Challenge on the microphone.
Outfits:
Complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding clothing in the "My Closet" menu in the Rock
Shop.
Ultimate Goth outfit: Complete the Impossible Drum Challenge.
Ultimate Metal Outfit: Complete the Impossible Vocal Challenge.
Ultimate Punk Outfit: Complete the Impossible Bass Challenge.
Ultimate Rock Outfit: Complete the Impossible Guitar Challenge.
Video Shoot menu:
Turn on the "Select Venue Screen" option. Go to the "New Venues Only" option at the "Modify Game" menu.
Start the game in Quickplay mode and choose a song. A "Video Shoot" option will sometimes appears at
the top of the "Select Venue" menu. Press Up to display it. These options will be "Indie Genius Video
Shoot", "High-Budget Video Shoot" or "Film Student Video Shoot". Select one of them to play with the
corresponding alternate background.
Unlocking songs quickly:
Select "Tour" in "Tour Challenges" mode. Complete the five decade challenges from 1960s through the
2000s. After completing the ten songs from the challenges you will unlock all other songs.
Easy "Bachman-Turner Award" trophy:
Go online or with friends and have two guitarists and a drummer. Make sure all players' Overdrives are
filled to the maximum. Have the drummer go first and activate his. Just before his meter runs out, have
the guitarist activate theirs. Just before theirs ends have the bassist activate theirs. Each player
will keep it going during the duration of the song, earning as you burn overdrive. Pay attention to
each others' meters. At the end of the song you will unlock the trophy.
Easy "Band Savior" trophy:
Play with at least two other people. Have one band member fail two times, bring them back in, and have
the other band member fail one time and bring them back.
Easy "Flawless Drumming" trophy:
If you are online, download the song "Charlene I'm Right Behind You" by Stephen and the Colberts. The
drum line is simple, even under the Expert difficulty. Just practice a few times and you will unlock
the trophy by no later than your fourth attempt.
Easy "Flawless Groove" trophy:
Have lefty flip on. Select "So Watcha Want" from the Beastie Boys. Choose the bass under the Expert
difficulty setting and play the song. The song only has green notes.
Easy "Flawless Guitar Solo" trophy:
- This trick is easy if you have songs from the original Rock Band transferred to Rock Band 2. If so,
select "Wave Of Mutilation" from the Pixies. Play the song with the Rock Band (not the Guitar Hero)
guitar. The solo is only about fifteen notes and are orange and blue. Use the solo buttons to play
them.
- Play the song "Give it Away" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. There are three solos, and the first one is
the easiest. Just play on the solo buttons from the start of the song until you get to it.
Easy "Flawless Singing" trophy:
Go to Quick Play or Tour mode and have the microphone available. Select "So Watcha Want" by the
Beastie Boys under the Expert difficulty setting. When the song starts, put the microphone up to your
speaker(s) and hold it there for the duration of the song. The only thing you will have to do is yell
to activate Overdrive when it appears and tap the microphone for the solo parts. At the end of the
song you will have a 100% rank and gold stars. Note: Make sure your volume is loud enough. Note: For
just a gold star, select "Give It Away" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and do the same thing. You will
get a 99% rank without singing. If you want a 100% rank on that song you must be able to hit the last
phrase in the song.
Easy "Million Point Club" trophy:
Select "Foreplay/Longtime" by Boston. Two players must be able to play under the Expert difficulty
setting and one player on at least the Medium difficulty setting. Finish the song with at least 97%
each and you will have well over a million points
Easy "Victory" trophy:
Select Score Duel or Tug Of War mode. Plug in a second instrument and just play one. You will unlock
the trophy just for winning.
